How to cook hard boiled eggs. The name “hard boiled” is actually a misnomer. Hard boiled eggs are not boiled, but rather simmered. Gently simmering the eggs produces tender, creamy and delicious eggs. Boiling produces tough rubbery whites and discolored yolks.
