From the filmmaker:
I spent a few days with Kumar Plocher, the CEO of Yokayo Biofuels, learning about the story of his company and their mission. Yokayo is poised to launch into a new market through an advancement of their process technology, an expansion of their supplier and distributor network, and the release of a new product. You can read more about them at ybiofuels.org
Here is a short summary from their website: Yokayo Biofuels is a biodiesel production and distribution company that has operated out of the Ukiah Valley in Northern California since 2001. We are committed to ecological, social, and economic sustainability. Our fuel is made from locally-collected used restaurant fryer oil, which is currently the most sustainable biodiesel source available. We’re also working on the development of new technologies and feedstocks, including other forms of recycling and high-yield crops that can be grown locally and that won’t compete with food.
